Amsterdam

Well, things have really changed, globally, since this trip. Going through photos and souvenirs from old trips are making me feel a little better about all the adventures I'm missing out on because of this pandemic. But ultimately, I'm so thankful for my health and safety right now! So anyway, here are some photos from last year's trip to Amsterdam, that I never shared...

Amsterdam. There is something special about this city. The pace is different. The people are happy. Life moves faster and slower at the same time. It's exponentially faster to walk or bike somewhere than it is to drive. Some cities have a personality and Amsterdam and I just clicked immediately.

London and the Flower Show

Wow... so it's 2020 now. Not sure how that happened but here we are. I would love to do a better job of sharing my adventures this year and so I think I'll start by sharing some of the trips I didn't get to sharing last year!

So last May I took a girl's trip with my mom, my aunt, and my cousin and we had the most amazing time! We went to London and Amsterdam and I took so many pictures that I haven't even made it through all of them yet... and that was LAST YEAR. So I'm going to try to do better and I'm starting now, by sharing our trip to London!

For me, London was a lot like New York, only much much older... I love a good city, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's hard not to feel like a tourist because there are SO many historic and iconic things you want to see. (I acknowledge that I literally am a tourist but I usually try to avoid the obvious tourist-trap attractions, if I can).  So this is me playing tourist in London, Big Bus Tour and all! It was a blast and I can't imagine sharing the experience with anyone else than these wild ladies!

Vacationland

For me, Maine is only "Vacationland" in the summer...

I don't like the snow and I don't like the cold (the south is choice for this reason...) but I do love my mom! So this summer I actually made it up to Maine TWICE to see her. Time with family + time on the coast is basically my all time combo.

We spent some time in Sedgwick, Brunswick (all the wicks, I guess), and even drove out to Bailey's island to explore a little. The real bonus is that I can usually find flights to Boston (only 3 hours from my mom) for less than $100 round trip! #PTL

I even got to help my mom shoot a wedding while I was up there!

Do We Still Call It The Big Apple

My mom and I took our first official girl's trip. It was my first time every visiting "The Big Apple" and I had a list that was wayyyy too unrealistic for our 4 days in the city.

We did pretty well with the help of our dear friend and native, Marcy, who took us to some places I never would have found on my own! LOVE YOU MARCY!

I had such an amazing time! We had the best italian food i've ever eaten, I had lox and bagel for the first time, we went to the Bronx Zoo (!!!), we did Sunday brunch, we wandered around the park, pretended we lived in SOHO, ate cronuts and macaroons, I even hailed a NYC cab by myself!

I can't wait to go back! I knocked a lot off of my list but put probably just as many things on it so... Isn't that how it goes! lol

From The Hip

We had some photos done with From The Hip Photography and I am just so pleased with how they turned out! Keaton and I are super awkward (especially Keaton, let's be honest) so I was so nervous about being in front of the camera but Greta did such an amazing job!

I've been stalking Greta's photography for a while so I was so excited to actually book some time with her!

Keaton and I haven't had family photos done since our wedding...five (and a half) years ago. So it was time. And it was worth the wait! Here are a few of my favorites :)

The Williamson Family

I was so glad I got to take pictures of this lovely bunch before they (and we) move off! They're the most precious group of gingers you ever saw! I can't wait to meet the new addition!

Case and point! They are wonderful inside and out! I'm so glad I got to break from the craziness of moving preparation to spend some time with the Williamsons!

In other news: WE FOUND A HOUSE!! We spent last week in Kennesaw house hunting and I can't wait to get all moved in and share our new home with you guys! What an excellent new adventure this is going to be!!

Y'all enjoy your independence day by the way!
Thanks for stopping by!

It's Our Anniversary!!!

Today I have been married to my best friend for TWO YEARS!!!

Marriage has been one of the greatest adventures and the best part about it is that it's always an adventure. We are always going to be learning new things about each other! It is truly the ultimate adventure and I'm so glad that I get to do it with the most wonderful man on this planet!

I thought it would be fun to share our wedding day, which was truly perfect.

Handsome, right??

Our wedding was at a Wildflower Refuge in Texas. My great uncle was the caretaker for years and years so the location meant a lot to my family and it was just absolutely beautiful. *win win!*

Our first dance was to La Vie en Rose by Louis Armstrong. Everything about that night was perfect.

Happy Anniversary Keaton! You make my life so much more interesting! :) I can't wait to have a hundred more anniversaries with you!!!

*High Five if you held on through this mushy post! You rock! ;)

A Getaway to the North Country

I recently got to visit my mom in Maine over Easter weekend! I did a lot of traveling around end of March and early April! We got to visit Salem, MA, do some hiking, and most importantly...color eggs! Here are some snapshots from my trip.

Is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen???

I had a blast and can't wait to go back when it's a little warmer...I'm a southern girl and I prefer no snow! haha

Hope you guys have the best weekend!

Birthday Adventures!

For my birthday with the family I got to choose whatever I wanted for dinner so naturally I chose sushi!
I LOVE SUSHI!!! Instead of going out (pricey $$$) we went to this lovely market and picked up the necessary materials to make an amazing sushi birthday meal!

Super H had so much exotic stuff and I know I looked like a tourist in there with my camera but it was just so cool!!! My Dad lives in Richardson, TX (Dallas metro) so it's nice to have access to things like that while we're there. I love Lawton so much but there is only one place to get sushi in this whole dang town...

I think we nailed it! We also did tempura shrimp, mushrooms, sweet potato, and oh man oh man was it delicious! I love my family and I especially loved cooking with my Dad and my sister. My family is all scattered so when I get to see them it is very precious.

Life is a gift and I'm very much enjoying it!
