Currently...

DISCLAIMER: I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself trying to think of what my first post on the new blog will be. It's really been a bit of a stresser because I've been so looking forward to getting things going and I wanted it to be PERFECT! The problem with that is...I don't do perfect so well...ever. So I think this will be perfect for a non-perfect me...if that makes any sense.

Hello gang! First of all if you have followed me over from my previous blog "To Whom It May Concern" I'm so glad you made it! If you're new to this blog, so am I! So we're in this thing together.

Right now there are a few albums that I literally cannot stop listening to. So I thought it would be fun to share them!

Gregory Alan Isakov: This Empty Northern Hemisphere
The thing about this album is that it's wonderful. His voice is so great and the harmonies are heavenly! It has a very Andrew Bird vibe to it and I so very much love it!
Favorite Song: That Moon Song
If you get the chance, check this out. It is so dang good.

Florence + the Machine: Ceremonials
Ok. Let's be honest. Who doesn't love Florence Welch? I think it is actually impossible. She is crazy gorgeous in that untraditional way that I adore, she's fashionable, and her voice is monstrous (I mean that in a VERY good way).
Favorite Song: Never Let Me Go

Alabama Shakes: Boys & Girls
Speaking of amazing voices. Dang this girl can wail. She sort of gives off a Robert Plant vibe which I can totally dig. Give me a good folk album and I'm always in.
Favorite Song: Hold On

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros: Here
I feel like this album is always going to remind of this summer. It's great for that. I can play it in the background for hours while I'm working or doing something crafty or just trying to let my brain rest (not easy to do...). I think as a whole, it is much better than their first album even though there are some songs I like more on the first album. I don't know if that makes sense but it does to me!

Sufjan Stevens: The Age of Adz
This album will NEVER come out of my rotation. It is flawless. I really don't think I "got" this album until I saw it performed live. There is SO much emotion in it and Sufjan is just so amazing at conveying that in his music. I also love that he broke onto the electronic scene! There isn't anything he can't do. I mean that.
Favorite Song: Vesuvius (I can barely pick a favorite)

So if you hung in there for this whole thing, pat yourself on the back. That ain't easy ;)
Thanks for listening to my humble opinions on some tunes. Have an amazing rest of your week!
